Elf Archer Beauty Shot by mansarali Elf Archer Beauty Shot by mansarali
So here's my original elf archer character with a bit more time and thought. Wanted to put her in her environment. No reference apart from flicking through a few jungle images for color range. Can't remember how long it took as I did this over several days with most of the time just leaving the PC on and me being elsewhere, so doing a bit here and there

Yeah thanks for that, never heard of elves having super light weight and balance and off there is that thing called fantasy, as in anything is possible, you don't suppose you can actually shoot ten people in one action jump either but it doesn't stop anyone animating or drawing it or producing it in movies. Also elves can shoot pretty fast, so think of this as a 2/3 sec pose where shes bouncing around branch to branch, and if you must know I take criticsm very well but that one's pointless for the above reasons, :D

Hi there, I am making a card game and I really like your art style. Could I use some of your images for the cards?

The card game is my final year project for my University. The will be no financial gain from that on this stage.

Umm, you will have to give me a little more information and be specific as to which ones, also draw out a signed form stating that you I am the owner and copyright of each image (you need to list each image) and mention that you are ONLY getting a permission for license to use the each image. I will let you know from there which ones I can let you use and which you cant, thanks (oh yeah you will have to give credit linking me to either deviantart or my website, ta

The game I am making is a strategy/ card game hybrid.

I will send you a full list once I find the ones I would need.

If you give me an e-mail address I can show you exactly how the cards will look like.

And to clear this bit out the only alterations that will be done on your images (if you allow it) will be minor blending options such as putting a black/white gradient with multiply to darker the image and softly blend it with the rest of the card.

Naturally you will be creditted for your contribution.

One important critique is that this archer doesn't know how to nock her arrow correctly. It's a common mistake, but anyone who has ever held and used a bow will immediately notice that the arrow is placed on the wrong side of the bow stave. As placed it would fall off her thumb. Do some Googling of pics of folks actually doing archery; the arrow runs from the right hand/eye to the left side of the bow, resting over the knuckles.

Thank you for taking the time to critique, I actually did google images before applying it on the image. All the modern day archery shows the arrow being on the knuckle side that is correct due to the way the bow is made with all the modern gadgets, but my research into archery images from old, where actual traditional bow and arrow shot by fantasy characters and the like shows images with arrows being held on top of the thumb. But there I understand your point and agree also. well noted and I'm sure I can study this further in the future

Wow. I love this. I'm currently designing a character for a game I play that needs to be drawn, and this has given me a lot of inspiration.
Don't worry, I'm not about to steal the pose or outfit or anything else, no way in hell, but it has helped stir up my mind. =]

hahaha, Thanks, I'm glad I can help. It's actually being used for a game called Empire Tactics, not out yet. Like a lease license, the character and image is still copyrighted to me off course :D

Gorgeous. Utterly, utterly beautiful. I like this version more than the concept -- the colours are amazing, and I adore the detail that's gone into the outfit. <3

Thank you very much, Yeah I decided to do some of my own concept characters in a more detailed scene to feel the character more. The original concept was my second attempt at cell shading

Thank you. I'm not sure about how I came with the idea. I kind of think what the character possesses and is and think of a situation where the character would fall into. Its like going into the character and thinking what to do. I just had this image in my head where she was aiming from a tree in a stealth type style. Like an epiphany
